Alison started singing barbershop in 2001 when she was living in Arizona and joined Chiltern Harmony in September 2004. She comes from a barbershop
family, however, as her mother sang with Chiltern Harmony for many years and
won a gold medal singing
bass in a quartet called Tapestry.
Alison directed her university choir and subsequently attended BABS
Directors College. Singing has always played an important part in
Ali’s life, with her involvement in the
Herts County Youth Choir
and Hemel Hempstead Theatre Company, although her favourite role to date was
playing Fagin at age 10! She is now involved in IVY League
(the National
Youth Barbershop Chorus) and is keen to bring some more young women into the
barbershop fold!
