Chiltern Harmony proudly celebrates its 25th year in 2007. We were formed in 1982 when the wives and girlfriends of a local men’s chorus decided they should explore a capella singing. Ever since those early days of the chorus, whether performing or rehearsing, our primary objective alongside making harmonious music is to have fun!
A summary of our engagements in the past few years might give an idea of the breadth of our singing activities.
Each autumn we take part in the LABBS (Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers) national chorus competition. In November 2006 we took 5th place in the competition. And we were very proud when our resident quartet, Noteorious, took the bronze medal at the related quartet competition.
In the past few years we have performed in Shows at local theatres, for the Guilds of London – at Mansion House and at the Drapers Hall, at weddings, at local summer fetes, at a church anniversary celebration, at school, club, and charity fundraisers, at local retirement homes, and at Christmas-related events throughout the Chilterns. You may have also come across some of us performing in local pubs since we often retire to the local pub after a performance and cannot resist blessing the locals with song!
